Ordering

How to order

Our bare root trees are normally available from November until late spring, although this can vary due to seasonal temperatures. We recommend ordering early to avoid disappointment due to high demand. Our cell-grown trees are available for purchase year-round.

An order is only considered accepted when Trebrown Nurseries issues a written Sales Order Acknowledgment to you. Published prices may change without prior notice. Prices shown on the website are inclusive of VAT.

For orders which are to be delivered in our south-west area of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, and Gloucestershire, we usually deliver ourselves on our regular scheduled routes. For small orders and orders to the Great Britain Mainland that is outside or inside our south-west area, we send via courier and delivery charges apply, calculated on distance and weight. Sorry! We do not deliver plants to Northern Ireland nor continental Europe. If you require delivery to any offshore UK islands then please contact us in advance for confirmation. Orders of tree-fern spore & other fern spore can be posted world-wide. Fern spore will be sent out separately from ordered plants.

Payment

We invoice for all orders with immediate payment required. Payment of your invoice is usually requested via BACS transfer to our bank. If you require credit card payment then you may request a Paypal invoice during the checkout process. In both instances we require payment prior to despatch. We do not permit lines of credit on account. If your invoice is not paid with 14 days of the invoice date, the order will be cancelled and your ordered plants returned to stock. For orders that are to be delivered directly via our own vans, or collected at our nursery, we also allow you to pay for your order cash on delivery. We campaign to keep cash alive in the modern society. If paying cash on delivery, we request that you have the correct money ready, as our drivers may not hold enough small change. Our drivers do not except credit cards. We do not except payment by cheque.

Delivery

Delivery of bare root trees will be sometime after the beginning of November which is the earliest we start to lift them out of the ground. Cell-grown trees and potted trees are delivered year-round. A combination of both bare root trees and cell-grown trees will usually be delivered when the bare root trees are lifted unless otherwise instructed by yourself. Any fern spore included in your order will be sent out seperately. You may choose the method of delivery at the point of checkout. The default option is that your delivery will be on our next scheduled route to your vicinity, where we will notify you in advance as soon as we know that date. But you may choose to have your trees delivered faster via courier and charged at cost. We do not offer a timed-delivery service or an express delivery option. All Royal Mail orders are processed via the 48 Hour Track and Trace delivery.

Please ensure the full address and postcode are correct, we cannot accept any responsibility for loss of products or delays in delivery due to incorrect address details.

Collection

There may be instances where you may collect your trees in person from the nursery by appointment only. Once ready, orders must be collected within one week. You will need to arrange the date and time of your collection with our staff. However, due to the biosecurity implementations in place you will not be able to enter the nursery to choose your own trees. Neither do we allow off the shelf sales. Orders are placed on-line. However, we encourage payment of cash on collection.

Packaging

As an environmentally responsible company, we aim to reduce the amount of plastic packaging as possible. The root-balls of cell-grown plants are wrapped in biodegradable cellophane (made from corn-starch), therefore, the compost is securely locked during transit and the roots won't be disturbed. We don't use stuffing in our biodegradable boxes. Instead, we have developed a unique packaging method which makes plant movement virtually impossible in the parcel, where they are held down with biodegradable tape. Your items will arrive in perfect condition to your door.
